About
Built by someone who uses one.
ParaBoards was founded by Ben Woodford, an experimental psychologist and artist with over 20 years of direct experience with this problem. The system exists because he wanted it to exist and had the engineering background to build it.
The founder
Ben Woodford has spent more than two decades navigating the mobility device industry as a user. He has direct knowledge of what the repair experience looks like in practice, what it costs when parts are proprietary, and what the difference is between a device designed for insurance approval and one designed for actual use.
He holds a doctorate in experimental psychology and has a background in engineering and fabrication. ParaBoards LLC is the company he started to build the system he wanted to use. The design decisions reflect that perspective: 20+ years of firsthand experience with what the current system does and doesn't do.
That's the credibility behind the design philosophy. Not a hypothetical customer profile — someone who used the broken system for two decades and built a different one.
The company
ParaBoards LLC is a small company at the product development stage. Everything is pre-launch. The team is lean by design — the solopreneur model is a philosophy choice, not a constraint. Overhead that doesn't improve the product or reduce your price gets cut.
